Gilad Atzmon – PM Gordon Brown, Here Is My Shopping List
Gordon Brown the British PM has managed to come up yesterday with one of his most immoral and irresponsible announcements so far. In his desperate attempt to appease notorious Israeli war criminal leadership, Brown pleaded to redeploy the British Navy in the region. “We’ll send Royal Navy to help fight (weapon) smuggling,” said the British PM.
Pro-Israel Rally in NYC (please watch video)
Shocking video where Pro-Israel Americans take to the streets in NYC and Alternet interviews them to hear their views on why it is right to “Wipe Gaza off the Map”. If any of these comments were made regarding Jews or Israel, there would be an uproar. But… we know all of that by now.
On January 11, an estimated 10,000 people rallied in front of the Israeli consulate in midtown New York in support of Israel’s attack on the Gaza Strip. The rally, which was organized by UJA-Federation of New York and the Jewish Community Relations Council of New York in cooperation with the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, featured speeches by New York’s most senior lawmakers. While the crowd was riled to righteous anger by speeches about Hamas evildoers, the event was a festive affair that began and ended with singing and joyous dancing.
Ramzy Baroud – Gaza, A New Middle East Indeed
As Israel unleashed its military fury against Lebanon for several weeks in July-August 2006, it had one major objective: to permanently ‘extract’ Hezbollah from the South as a fighting force, and to undermine it as a rising political movement, capable of disrupting, if not overshadowing the ‘friendly’ and ‘moderate’ political regime in Beirut.
As Israeli bombs fell, and with them hundreds of Lebanese civilians, and much of the country’s infrastructure, US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice sprung into action. She too had one major objective: to delay a ceasefire, which the rest of the international community, save the US and Britain, desperately demanded. Rice, who is merely, but faithfully reiterating the Bush Administration’s policy, hoped that the Israeli bombs would succeed in achieving what her government’s grand policies failed to achieve, namely a New Middle East.
May Your Children Have the Same Fate of Gaza Children!
It seems that AIPAC and the Jewish Lobby was sleeping on the job. It took more than 10 days since Israel began its attack on Gaza, committing one war crime after another to order the US Congress to vote its support for Israel. The very proud and brave Jewish Army is using the latest weapons and technology the US could provide it with to kill and destroy – including the use of internationally forbidden weapons. The US also announced today that it seeks quotes to expedite the delivery of ammunition to Israel so it can continue to kill and murder. Thank you America for your generous support and for your partnership in the murder of innocent people. Thank you, Thank you.
Ramzy Baroud – Is Israel Winning the "Media War" over Gaza?
“We are all Hamas,” screamed a scrawny Mauritanian, repeatedly, as he determinedly drew his face closer to a TV camera. Behind him, thousands more tunefully chanted similar words, chants that were heard in different Arabic dialects, in fact in many different languages all across the globe.
Yet, Israel, somehow is claiming victory in the media war, which it calculatedly unleashed weeks before its most violent attack on Gaza yet. Thousands have been reportedly killed and wounded in the first two weeks, starting Dec. 27, in the tiny stretch of land (roughly 140 square miles), yet densely populated Gaza Strip of 1.5 million people.
Avrum Burg: Can the Jewish People Survive Without an Enemy?
Interview By Tony Karon January 1, 2009 TIME
Avrum Burg is the scion of one of Israel’s founding families — his father was the deputy speaker of the first Knesset, and Burg himself later became speaker of the legislature, and a member of Israel’s cabinet. His position at the heart of the Israeli establishment makes all the more remarkable his critique of the Jewish State, which he claims has lost its sense of moral purpose. In his new book The Holocaust Is Over: We Must Rise from Its Ashes (Palgrave/MacMillan), he argues that an obsession with an exaggerated sense of threats to Jewish survival cultivated by Israel and its most fervent backers actually impedes the realization of Judaism’s higher goals. He discussed his ideas with TIME.com’s Tony Karon.
Gilad Atzmon – Eine Kleine Nacht Murder: How Israeli Leaders Kill for their People´s Votes
In order to grasp the latest devastating murderous Israeli expedition in Gaza one must deeply comprehend the Israeli identity and its inherent hatred towards anyone who fails to be Jewish and a hatred against Arabs in particular. This hatred is imbued in the Israeli curriculum, it is preached by political leaders and implied by their acts, it is conveyed by cultural figures, even within the so-called ‘Israeli Left’.
I grew up in Israel in the 1970’s people of my generation are nowadays the leaders of the Israeli army, politics, economy, academia and the arts. We were trained to believe that ‘a good Arab is a dead one’. A few weeks before I joined the IDF in the early 1980’s, General Rafael Eitan, the Chief of Staff at the time announced that the “Arabs were stoned cockroaches in a bottle”. He got away with it, he also got away with the murder of many thousands of Lebanese civilians in the 1st Lebanon war. In a word, Israelis manage to get away with murder.
Yousef Abudayyeh – Open Letter to the US Mass Media
Dear Editor, Imagine if more than 63 thousand Americans were massacred in a couple of hours’ campaign of F-16 bombing. This number represents (by way of percentage) the number of Palestinians killed by Israel when it launched its massive air strikes in Gaza on Saturday. A friend of mine in Gaza tells me that hundreds are still buried under the rubble and the toll of deaths could easily reach thousands. Already there are more than 1,700 injured with many in serious conditions.Imagine if all this carnage is being paid for by your tax money.
Israel is carrying out an all out massacre in the Gaza Strip and the Arab American Community is outraged because neither the US Media is covering and reporting the facts nor do the Bush Administration and Congress have the backbone to order Israel, which gets almost 11 Billion Dollars a year from the US, to stop carrying out these war crimes.
Gaza: The untold story
Conquerors came and went, and Gaza stood where it still stands today. This was the recurring lesson for generation. Its modern conquerors are as unpitying as its ancient ones.
It’s incomprehensible that a region such as the Gaza Strip, so rich with history, so saturated with defiance, can be reduced to a few blurbs, sound bites and reductionist assumptions, convenient but deceptive, vacant of any relevant meaning, or even true analytical value.
The fact is that there is more to the Gaza Strip than 1.5 million hungry Palestinians, who are supposedly paying the price for Hamas’s militancy, or Israel’s ‘collective punishment’, whichever way the media decide to brand the problem.
Somalia: A symbol of the decaying world order
For nearly two decades, world media has described Somalia using a litany of adjectives. Some have been accurate, others have been politically expedient and nearly all have been uniformly negative.
This nation of 10 million has been called “the worst humanitarian crisis in the world.” A “war-torn nation” that is the “poster child of failed states.” It has been dismissed as “a basket case,” accused of being “a haven for terrorists” and attacked as “the third front in the War on Terror.” More recently, it has come to be known as the piracy capital of the world.
It came as no surprise, then, when the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) unanimously adopted resolution 1846 on December 16th, 2008, authorizing any nation the use of “all necessary means” to combat piracy in Somalia.
