Anbar University Throws Shoes
Anbar University students and professors demonstrated today (Tuesday); against the presence of U.S. occupation forces and forcing them out with shoes and stones from the campus.
The denunciation of students and professors came because of taking pictures of university students through cameras by the U.S. occupation soldiers. The university personals, students and professors rose up against them throwing shoes and stones.
Iraqi reporter al-Zaidi’s arm, ribs broken
Security agents have broken the arm and ribs of al-Zaidi, a reporter who hurled his shoes at President Bush on Sunday.
“He has got a broken arm and ribs, and cuts to his eye and arm,” the reporter’s brother Durgham told AFP on Tuesday.
“He is being held by forces under the command of Muaffaq al-Rubaie,” he added.

Iraq faced mounting calls on Monday to release the journalist who hurled his shoes at George W. Bush, an action branded shameful by the government but hailed by many in the Arab world as an ideal parting gift to the unpopular US president.
Colleagues of Muntazer al-Zaidi, who works for independent Iraqi television station Al-Baghdadia, said he “detested America” and had been plotting such an attack for months against the man who ordered the invasion of his country.
Iraqis demand release of shoe-hurling journalist

Thousands of Iraqis have taken to the streets of several cities today to demand the release of the Iraqi journalist who threw his shoes at US President George W Bush yesterday.
The protests have been organised by supporters of Shi’ite cleric Moqtada al-Sadr, with demonstrators chanting: “Bush, Bush listen well: Two shoes on your head.”

George Bush, the US president, has had a pair of shoes hurled at him at a press conference during his last surprise visit to Iraq before leaving office in January.
An Iraqi reporter called Bush “a dog” and shouted out “this is the end” at Sunday’s news conference in Baghdad, before hurling his shoes at the US leader.
