A salute to Turkey, a salute to Erdogan

The recent Turkish decision to exclude Israel from an aerial military exercise over Turkish territory is another indication that Turkey will not allow itself to be blackmailed by criminal international Zionism.
Following the decision, Zionist officials and media sought to mitigate its impact on the increasingly troubled relations with Turkey by claiming that it had little [...]

Mideast ‘Peace Partners’ Finally Taking Off Their Gloves

JERUSALEM — Amazingly, just when all four parties — the U.S., its allies in the Arab world, the Palestinian Authority, and Israel — seemed to have hit rock bottom in terms of the prospects of moving the region away from conflict and towards peace, all of a sudden everything seems to be pointing in the [...]

Bring on The Third Intifada!

On many occasions, we that are born free (all is relative) find it hard to understand Palestinian mentality. Just this week, I’ve had exhausting debates about the safety of children, during the Bil’in weekly protest. Though I can’t defend or agree with allowing your children to be near the fence, when the army is 101% likely to fire gas grenades, I firmly believe that mindsets under occupation are something we don’t fully understand. Maybe when I’m a mother to a child that’s been snatched from his bed at night, arrested, beaten and interrogated, I’ll have a different perspective on danger.

Francis Boyle – The United States Promotes Israeli Genocide Against the Palestinians

The United States Promotes Israeli Genocide Against the PalestiniansAs long ago as October 19, 2000, the then United Nations Human Rights Commission (now Council) condemned Israel for inflicting “war crimes” and “crimes against humanity” upon the Palestinian people, most of whom are Muslims.

The reader has a general idea of what a war crime is, so I am not going to elaborate upon that term here.  But there are different degrees of heinousness for war crimes.

Gaza: Chronicle of a Predictable Slaughter

Gaza: Chronicle of a Predictable SlaughterWRITTEN BY Alberto Terenzi, issued on January 1 2009

Translated by Diego Traversa and revised by Mary Rizzo for www.tlaxcala.es

Like any fact risking being spread to the extent of undermining world peace, it’s necessary to see who should be considered accountable for what’s happening in Palestine.

In fact, the western media accept all too easily, for reasons that cannot be analyzed here, the Israeli version according to which the operation “Cast Lead” is supposed to be nothing but a retaliation against Hamas launching several dozen rockets towards Israeli-populated areas close to the Gaza Strip.

Mr Mubarak, Tear Down That Wall!

Mr Mubarak, Tear Down That Wall!WRITTEN BY Franklin Lamb in Beirut (Illustration by Carlos Latuff)

“I’m not calling for a coup d’etat, but go talk to your leaders and tell them you do not accept what is happening in Gaza”.

– Hezbollah Sec-Gen Hasan Nasrallah calling for Egyptians “in millions” to demonstrate their support for opening the Rafah crossing from Gaza to Egypt, 28 December 2008

“…it is essential if man is not to be compelled to have recourse, as a last resort, to rebellion against tyranny and oppression, that human rights should be protected by the rule of law.” (Preamble) – Universal Declaration of Human Rights   December 10, 1948

Reham Alhelsi – Real Events of the Year 2008

Events of the Year 2008, What the dpa and their ilk Chose to Ignore

(in the photo, Israelis destroy Palestinian Olive groves, ruining the landscape and the economy)

Last week, while checking the local newspaper, I came across a typical “Main Events of the Year Chronology”. Usually, I usually try to stay away from such listings, because from experience, I know that the only news events connected with Palestine to be mentioned will be portrayed from a Zionist point of view. My eyes went immediately to the source of this list, hoping that it’s a local or non-biased one. But I was much disappointed to see that it was a list prepared by the dpa (Deutsche Presse-Agentur, German News Agency). This “Main Events of the year Chronology” is typical of German, and has a strong western bias (when it comes to the Palestinian/Israeli issue) and is a hypocritical (when it comes to criticism of the violations of human rights around the world) media.

Israeli forces attack Gaza areas, killing father of three

Israeli forces attack Gaza areas, killing father of threeThe Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) have escalated their military attacks on the Gaza Strip, killing a Palestinian and destroying houses and other civilian premises. Meanwhile, Israel’s tight blockade of the Gaza Strip has continued, resulting in an unprecedented deterioration of the humanitarian situation due to severe shortages of food, water, fuel and medical supplies. Daily power outages, which last for long hours in Gaza, have exacerbated this crisis.

According to Al Mezan’s field investigations, at approximately 4:50pm on 17 December, the IOF gunships opened heavy machine gun fire towards Qleibo area, eastern al-Sheikh Zayid town, and the Talet al-Zaitoun area in Jabaliya refugee camp. The firing lasted for more than 15 minutes spreading panic in the area. Five minutes later, IOF fired a missile at the former area; however, no injuries were reported.

ACTION ALERT- Urgent call for Action on upgrade of the EU- Israel Association Agreement

*** KINDLY REPRINT AND SPREAD WIDELY ***

The recent postponement of the vote in the European Parliament on the extension of existing EU programmes with Israel has been attributed to the great mass of letters received by MEPs, MPs and Ministers, showing the growing influence of civil society on attitudes towards Israel.

We now need you to write again about an even more crucial and urgent issue relating to the upgrading of EU relations with Israel.

David Halpin – A response to Chief Rabbi Sacks

David Halpin - A response to Chief Rabbi SacksSurgeon David Halpin is one of those people that I’ve admired from afar for quite a few years. He is a tireless activist for human rights. Together with his wonderful wife, a nurse, they established the Dove and Dolphin Charity, an organisation that seeks to bring healthcare, attention and tangible change to suffering people. I’ve had the privilege of taking some of his free time away from him and he sent me a letter that he wrote to the Chief Rabbi (actually meant for the BBC). Since they didn’t publish it, and I think it is very worthy of attention, I print it here. It is a response to a radio transmission given by the Chief Rabbi of the UK, Sir Jonathan Sacks. First, the broadcast, then the letter:
